No bluejays yet! They leave our cardinals alone for the most part. Last year we had 3 or 4 pair of cardinals, plus the babies! Gotta get out and feed 'em today, the feeder is empty!!!

We made a big peanut feeder today for the Woodpeckers. It must hold 2 lbs of peanuts & now there will be room for more then one bird at a time. We are going to use the small one for suet. Went to the meat market for some but they were closed.

At my last house we had a bunch of cardinal pairs. They would eat on the ground under the feeders. I saw some there once eating nice and peacefully. big mr bluejay and friend came and tried to shoo Mr Cardinal. He would have none of that. He jumped up fluttered his wings squaked and lunged at the bluejay who got the heck out of the cardinals way. Dont mess with that daddy bird!

I must have had 10 little Chickadees at my feeder this morning, looked so cute, all jumping around.

We are back to feeding the birds heavily now! Had snow today & boy were the birds at the feeders. Have to go buy about 100 plus lbs tomorrow! We mix our own for them as they hate the millet. I can see em me for it being in the food!
