Morning all. A weekend of rain here in middle TN. 3-4 inches in one day is usually considered a good rain. We got 12-15 yesterday and looking for more today. I have yet to asses the garden damage, but I'm probably looking at getting out the seeds and starting more plants

I only had a couple small erosion problems on the slope. Water in abundance tho killed off a few pepper plants of "Big Jim" that were just set out a couple days before, they hadn't adjusted yet, oh well I have more seeds

Today, as yesterday the sun is out and 85 degrees. 3 counties including the one I used to live in have been declared federal disaster areas. As a rockhound, I look forward to seeing what erosion has exposed in the way of rocks and fossils, hopefully something worth collecting. I still feel bad for all the folks that got really flooded, we had some basement water, not enough to make a good story when so many have lost so much. One thing that's sad tho, the gov has asked for people to cut water use in half and some are still washing cars, crazy.

Yeah Phil. I found a tooth fossil about 8 inches long 10 years ago, still looking for rest of the "dragon".

Slow going here lately. I wonder if this board will ever come back? I check in often and make the occasional comment. There doesn't seem to be much interest. Maybe some new blood?

I guess that's it, everybody is just busy. It's been rainy, hot and humid here, enough that I am starting to get concerned about the number of times per week the leaves of the tomato plants get wet and stay that way all night. Blight scares me! I need tomatoes, big slicing tomatoes on a sandwich with whole wheat bread and mayo.

YUM! I love tomato samwiches!! Its been raining alot here. what happend to APRIL showers bring may flowers? lol. were getting the rain in May/june! maybe you could put a cover on them. like the homemade hoop thang phil had on his? just alil bigger to keep the rain off. the ground will still get wet n water them....I was reading about them somewere. people keep them on to keep the pests off. not shure how well that works. I figure were theres a will pest will phind a way...
