I noticed today at LOWS that they are starting to get some annuals in such as geraniums

We don't have any lowe's anywhere close.. I think the closest one is like 70 miles... Wally world has a bunch of geraniums, pansies and petunias already... And well stocked on the fruit trees for down here..

annuals are very show and beautiful but they don't last long enough.
I am still partial to perrenials.
I am really looking forward to getting my medicinal garden up and growing. will be so pretty all the yarrow, feverfew, echinacea, chamomile, burdock, curly dock, rue, tansy, bee balm, Mexican Mint Marigold, Indian Paintbrush, White sage, sweet grass, catmint, catnip, Wormwood, Pennyroyal, anise hyssop, white mullien, plantain, lamb's ears, epizote, mugwort, black cohosh, lavendar and the list goes on and on and on.... lol
it will take years to get it all up and growing but I can be patient. I am collecting home remedies and studying the medicinal properties of these herbs in a mild way.
Not going into business but would love to make simple teas, sachet bags, and other herbal goodies and so forth.
