Had the displeasure of completing my two day road trip to Nashville..
Of course this trip wasn't the most pleasant trip thou.. We started ot at 7:30 am on monday... headed to baptist hospital in nashville.. I hate rush traffic... And down here with the speed limit at 70, Semi's pass ya at 80 -85 miles an hour.. This country kin ain't used to that anymore..
Well we arrived at the Hospital at aboput 1/4 to ten.. Checked in and had to go to another floor to get prepped.. This is the first time in ten years that I have shaved off my beard. well then the wait came around.
They wheeled me to yet another floor for the surgery... When I got there, it wasn't long, they wanted to knock me out quick... They did cause I don't remember a dern thing..
Well they cut my throat and pulled and replaced three bones in my neck.. And then wheeled me back to my suite for recovery.. They at first said it would be out=patient but at the last minute they told me i was staying for the night. It sure wasn't for rest cause They came into the room every half hour to check on me, pull blood, check drains, and to give me more pain killers.
The next morning Tuesday the doctor came in at 6:45 am and said I would probably be sent home.. Well we waited, waited and waited some more. Along about 11:00 am they finally said I could go home.. Not before hitting me up with more pain killers..
We stopped at a restaurant, I couldn't eat any of thre hospital food they attempted to give me. And then It took my wife 3 hours to drive home from Nashville. This is only a two hour drive.. She just isn't used to driving any great distance.
Well I sit at home.. I have a swollen throat, where they cut me.. My new neck hurts, and this brace just is so uncomfortable.. And by the way I have to wear it for at least three months.. Gees thats half the growing season down here..
Well this year I plan on trying some new things in raised beds, specially designed for the handicapped.. making them not only accessible to myself but to wheel chaired bound nieces and nephews..
My trip wasn't the greatest but it had to be done.
