I am working on my new budget for here. I think coming out okay so far. Really not sure yet what a month of utilities will be. I am eating from the freezer and pantry pretty much and baking bread. Rolls and cinnamon rolls. I may try crackers as they are getting so high. Saltless Ritz. Doctor says cookies bad eat crackers. Bread is high here and ritz sure have gone up. They do not have here at store. Reg. Too much salt. Saltless taste poor. Just buy milk at store her and did get yeast as only where I could find and price was okay. Could not find in big city.
I have to get a shoping list made out for when we do go. Get stuff for a month. I will try and stay ahead on things. I do find canned stuff here at the Family Dollar but has gone uop 30% plus we have 4% tax here on food. Not use tp that. No state but town and county.
I polished off my Jan money yesterday. This is March. Been writing checks and it is in a mess. The checks will clear just fine as money there okay. I had a big phone bill aas they put in 2 jacks and new phone I had to buy. Had to hook at the pole and line is under ground to house and that was in and then he had to go under house and put in the jacks. I could have where I wanted. Next bill should only be $78 for a month. PHone service is higher here. Best I could do and took internet with and unlimited long distance. $9 more than plain phone service. Only phone service here. I can pay the gas and water at town hall but rest I have to write a check and that fouls up budget keeping.

Colorado~ Good morning. Moving is always a bunch of changes but it seems like you're OK if you just now spent all of January's money. I like the idea of making your own crackers and would like to try your recipe, that is if it's not a secret.

I wrote the recipe of another forum. I have not tried it.
Italian Crackers 1 C white flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1/4 teaspoon salt add oil to mealy Water to make stilf dough. Roll and bake in in hot 425 oven. When she cooks in the prizzele cookie iron she use more water.
I use to do tortillas and put in oven and they dry like a crackers . Husband could not have salt and I used salt free baking powder. I would prick the crackers to help keep flat.
I plan the oven.
I wrote 2 checks on utilties here but had that much left and gave to son for moving my stuff he did and to help pay the kid that shovels snow. Should say young man , as he does a good job. I will set aside the Feb money and start living on March. When I was ro the bank early Fed got Feb and MAr same time. I figure my money maybe odd. I am paying utilies on two places yet. Water, gas and lights. That has to come from savings. I save back each month property tax money and Med ins . I had the phone diconnected and the the internet.
They deposit my SS checks and I draw out enough to live on for the month. Here I can not pay only gas and water . Electric to far to walk and phone company not here. I signed for the med ins to take from my account. That is a set amout and copays they are to bill me. It is all the changes and extra stuff. I want buy the gaskets for the plugins as I can feel cold blowing in. They do not cost much if can find them. Was told Walmart had them.
I get to read the new book first. He came over with it.
My cookbook hasa Soda crackers 2 c flour 1 t salt 1/2 t soda cut in 2 T margerine stire in 2/3 C sour milk kor buttermilk
Knead the dough a little and dived up and roll out very thin.Lay on ingrease cookie sheets and sprinkle with salt and cut in to 1 1/2 in squares with sharp knife or pizza cutter and prick with a fork. bake till lightly brown and at 375. 10 to 12 mins. Makes 1/2 #

Still haven't had time or energy somehow to make these crackers. I don't get in as much kitchen time as I should. Standing for long periods is usually out. I have a steel stepstool but it's pretty heavy to move around. Need to get a stool more like a barstool. Then I can sit between tasks, might help.

Yeah with this warm weather the yard sale season might start early. I don't buy much but I like to look. A good stool at a good price tho would be nice.

My friend will sometimes get home with a yard sale purchase and immediately start looking for something she can get rid of to make room, lol. I think it's probably a harmless past-time but sometimes I just have to laugh
