No way I can test the veggies. I have a list they gave me so much in a half cup and other in one cup. I found list on the internet also that seems to be a good one. But it is in grams .Basicly no soy bean oil as that has a lot and they put in so many things, Shortening is soy bean oil. I get some there and some in the vitamins and boughten baked stuff. This machine they put a drop of blood in on a strip and it gives a number. I am to be between 2 and 3. Last time 2.7 and I am up out the too thick. I cook with canola oil and bake with it. If veggie is not on the list it is okay. Greens have it very high. If green I stay away from it till I know. Peppers green but does not have hardly any. I just have to go by the list. I think one list lists leaf lettuces vit K. I need cook from scratch. My bread has no soy oil. No shortening. O got Wed for a blood test here. I can walk to the clinic. She uses the same prgram and doctor sets the numbers I am on. She has my records and I have paper for doctor for the tests and she sets the amount of pills. Any why I have to take it. I forgot to get my lists.
I am tired or something today. I only walked yesterday and made bread. So have today for seeding. Guess that is next . I hope not another cold.

Usually if a person gets too much vit K, they give you a blood-thinner. It's a shame you have to miss out on so much good food for the vitamin thing. You must be fairly healthy if you can walk a mile a day, wish I could. Good luck with your diet.

I take a blood thinner every day. Reason I take it my heart the bottom beats faster than the top and it does not get all the blood on each beat. Some can stay in and could clot and have stroke. I take other pills that keep my heart slowed down.
Doctor say do what ever I want. Run the tiller and what ever.

Sounds like your doctor is on top of it then. It's good that you are healthy enough to run the tiller.

Good to hear you are making progress on the beds. I risked my spare plants and put out tomatoes and a couple peppers a few days ago. In the middle of a gout spell right now, can't walk outside to check on them but GF says they look good. The ones I have left inside look good and are wanting to be outside, I'm sure. Soon I hope to put the rest out and find a home for what won't fit. Can't even give away plants to some pholks here unless I come plant them, lol. Lazy a**e*. Oops, did I say that out loud?

Sorry about your gout. Is that what bothers you ? Mom had it. Least you have some one to check things for you. I have arthritis but right now not bothering. Hands to feet, all over. Are you on a gout diet? Wt normal this morning and had been up a pound.
Son will bring in the tractor with tiller and and till places for the beds. They are piled on the porch. He nailed them. I carried few boards and helped carry the frames back over here.
He will put in lawn just to the top of slope back there. They had to level up this lot and put fill around the house. There is from the bottom of the slope to alley is about 36 feet. He is not putting grass on the slope. I do not like the slope deal at all. I told him we can put all the rocks along the base of it to keep it from washing and plant it. He has rock under the old shed and are larger rock. He said okay. Not near enough I am sure,. What I picked up was smaller stone that was in the soil. That can be used too. I thought about red creeping sedum. Cheap from Burgess. Do not know how bad it spreads. But low and says spreads fast, good on banks and slopes and need no pruning. Low growing. Not sure it is good choice. Zone 3 to 9. I am not sure if this 5 or 4 zone as it gets cold here. I figure I want 4 zone on hardy plants. I want hardy plants and no fool around. I told him I did not want chunks of cement/ but if some flat for a couple steps I guess I could use. I guess you would call it a ground cover. I could always stick in some other hardy stuff as I could get it. But these frames add up. Around $13 each with that discount. I have two more discount cards. 10% off if buy before May 15th. Once the yard is set up just water to pay for. I will have to limit what I buy for this yard. Right now just plain dirt. One elm tree out front. That is it Frames go down on the flat or should I says flatish part. Should be 4 go in from the slope to the alley.

Gout is sometimes caused or aggravated by what you eat. Mine is brought on by anemia, which is caused by Myelofibrosis. Also it has a number of other complications. Nothing I can do about all that so I just try not to dwell on it. On the good side, I was just outside for a minute and noticed the tomato plant I set out a week or so ago is noticeably bigger and better looking than the ones put out a few days later. I will have to get the mesh put up that I plan to tie them to. Radishes need to be thinned when I can stand long enough. Still have peppers and ground cherry and luffa to get planted out where I want them.

Getting old is not fun. Hope you are feeling better. Garden is a lot of work with out added problems.
Still windy some. So far not too bad but my hat does not stay on worth a darn, Warms up pretty good days. I was down to a T shirt Sunday. I noticed on my walk one house on south has a few green sprouts up it what I guess is a flower bed. Some rocks laid around it up against the house. I saw a lilac some where that was the leaf buds starting to swell some. Things have not greened up here. I saw the two pigeon or doves out in yard drink from puddle. Ice and snow on the north of son's shed (my yard) has all melted and low spot a puddle. First birds saw here besides the crows.
I could plant early stuff if had a frame set and ready. I have not test ground to see if not froze down a bit.
Isn't luffa a sponge?

Luffa sponge, dishrag gourd, lots of names for them. They grow on a long vine like a cucumber. Yellow flowers. The small ones are edible but they get tough pretty quick. Some people call it vining okra. They look like a big cuke, maybe 12-16 inches long. You leave them on the vine til nearly frost, then cut them to dry. Takes about 110+ days for them to mature here.

I have the luffas growing in a 5 gal bucket. There's 6 sprouts I think. I will thin them today is my plan. I wonder tho if I should leave more than one, hate to have all the eggs in one basket. Maybe I'll leave 2 and if anything (like slugs) gets to them I might have one left. I think that amount of soil will only support one plant.

Here's a picture of the first veggie of the season for 2012. That's not strictly true tho, had onions and kale that were harvested this year that were planted last. I did plant some piquin peppers last fall late, to have something alive over the winter. I just set them outside a few days ago. You might notice a few of the old "inside" leaves got sun-bleached. They will grow new ones.

Some of my tomato seeds I planted have came up now.
The ground here seems to be like concrete. I looked out back and I see a pile which I did not go out to see what but thing fert from the farm. Rather for me or his lawn? But think for my beds.
I got through the night okay. I fell yesterday getting up from the freezer's bottom basket and went over backwards and hit my head on edge of table and it swelled up. Sore and still some swelling today. Hurts today and guess numb yesterday for the most part. Son was just here to check on me. The fert is horse and for my garden. He hauled to day for the community garden. Dump truck and they had a loader at the stables. Couple years old. Should be okay. That is what the community garden gets. They have a meeting in coulpe days and son will take me. I really do not think I want in it. I will not volunteer for things. Too old. At night I will not go walking at night. I have not been out of the house today. Rataher be a plot for me or not. You pay and think seniors get a discount. They fert the ground and till it up. No car to get there. Tues night meeting..And river water with it. Maybe I could put squash in it.
Your plants look good.
I need to put an ice pack on for bit and got to bed early and just read till sleepy.

Oops, sorry to hear about your fall. I have to watch out for that every day. Pain killers tend to make me clumsy. It's surprising how little over-balanced you have to be and then with even slightly slow reaction time, you fall before you know it. I didn't do much in the garden today. helped my friend pick out and plant some petunias. For some reason coleus is not for sale yet anywhere but many other flowers are, even ones in bloom.
